Here's a theory:

1) The non-Muslim readers... run scared like shit as soon as they read your stuff.

2) The Muslims that are your buddies already... leave comments in Facebook.

3) The Muslims that are not your buddies yet... don't find instructions for making bombs, so they lose interest.

Mystery solved!

Rumyal,

Since I've worked out how to read the numbers of visits to my blog it seems to me that one person per 200 visits comments. Honest. And is that not strange? Is such a ratio common, or do I scare them?

No, I don't block them, except very very rarely if it's racist ranting not making a point.

Qunfuz,

Nice writing. It must be a universal experience when young and promising folks cross paths with older folks for whom these temporary stations are all but temporary. The shift at the control station reminds me of night shifts as a 20 year old soldier with the 40 year old sergeants that made the army into their “career”. Very similar dialogues and sensations (e.g., keen awareness of the (slow) passing of time, seconds, minutes and hours…) but sans the crack addicts.

Your blog is very interesting, is the lack of comments your doing? (i.e., do you block them?)
